LANSING, MI – A new medical marijuana facility licensed by the state will be able to grow, process and sell medical marijuana at the same location, the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs announced on Thursday.
The legislature last year passed legislation to legalize and regulate medical marijuana dispensaries, but left some particulars up to the departmental rulemaking process.
One of the open questions was whether somebody licensed for growing, processing and ‘provisioning’ — that is, actually selling the medical marijuana to patients – would be able to do more than one of those activities at the same physical location.
