Jamie Cooper, founder and CEO of Cannabiz Connection
GRAND HAVEN, MI – An all-in-one platform to facilitate the creation of cannibis businesses in Michigan launched out of Grand Haven today, Jan. 23.
Cannabiz Connection is a social community, directory and “business accelerator” for startups, consultants and existing businesses, according to a news release.
“I created the all-in-one Cannabiz Connection platform to help people learn, grow and build successful cannabis careers,” said founder and CEO Jamie Cooper, of Grand Haven. “The first order of business for any startup is to connect with the people who are already doing business in the industry.”
She plans to expand her business to several other states during 2018.
Michigan passed a new regulatory program for medical marijuana businesses in September 2016. Currently, 30 states and Washington D.C. have laws decriminalizing cannabis for either medical or recreational purposes.
Cannabiz connects business owners with attorneys, consultants, contractors and more. The platform provides the latest relevant information on state laws and resources. The platform will host weekly webinars, showcasing the expertise of its founding members: National Cannabis Security Services, Vista Green Group, Bricks and Mortar Insurance, LC Solutions Michigan and Ingrid Marketing.
Cannabiz Connection is paid for by the founding members that are marketing their products or services to cannabis business owners.
In 2018, Cooper became the first cannabis entrepreneur to be named one of the 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan by the Grand Rapids Business Journal.
