A rural Oakland County dad thought he was having a stroke Wednesday morning after eating several brownies his teenaged daughter had baked the previous night.
The 58-year-old man didn’t know the sweet treats contained a psychoactive ingredient: marijuana.
Firefighters and deputies responded on a medical call to the home on the 7700 block of Phelan Drive in Independence Township. After police arrived, the man’s 17-year-old daughter admitted to having baked the pot brownies, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office reported Thursday.
The father was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Pontiac, according to the sheriff’s office. The remaining brownies were taken to a lab for analysis, and an investigation is underway.
