“Michigan’s cannabis industry is on the rise, and it isn’t showing signs of slowing as communities continue to recognize and support the plants effectiveness as a medicine,” said James Yagielo, co-founder and CEO of HempStaff. “With 64 communities approving ordinances to allow medical marijuana businesses in their towns, and the new law ordering dispensaries to apply for a license from the state to keep operational by mid-2018, regulation-educated employees will be in high demand.”
In addition to Michigan’s cannabis regulations, the course topics include:
The 4-hour course culminates in a certification exam that students must score 75% or higher to get a HempStaff Dispensary Agent Certification. In addition to education, HempStaff offers recruitment assistance to students, which includes a cannabis resume review and tips on how to make connections with employers looking to fill entry-level positions at dispensaries and cultivation sites.
In addition to Michigan, future HempStaff training classes are scheduled for Maryland, Arkansas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, Illinois, Massachusetts and Florida.
