ANN ARBOR, MI – A medical marijuana dispensary near the University of Michigan Diag has joined the ranks of Ann Arbor cannabis businesses now with official city zoning approval.
The city’s Planning Commission voted unanimously this week to approve a special-exception use permit for Liv Cafe N Wellness, which occupies a nearly 1,500-square-foot space at 603 E. William St. just west of State Street.
While already in operation before this week, the dispensary, like others in Ann Arbor, has had to go through the city’s new approval process to become official under new regulations.
It’s now the ninth marijuana dispensary in Ann Arbor to receive zoning approval from the Planning Commission in recent weeks.
The city is taking a new look at tightening its regulations since so many marijuana dispensaries are looking to set up shop. More than 30 have sought approval from the city this year.
Located in a second-floor loft space next to the New York Pizza Depot, Liv Cafe N Wellness describes itself as a destination for a refreshing, educational and better health environment, providing a mix of medicinal and non-medicinal products and services, including medical-grade marijuana for registered patients.
The cafe features a cozy lounge area and serves up fresh-squeezed and pressed juices and freshly brewed coffee, teas and medicinal herbs. It also features an oxygen bar with aromatherapy and “over 10 natural oil aromas to choose from,” the Liv website states.
“We are a Wellness and Health food center located in Ann Arbor. We offer over 20 medicinal marijuana strains, CBD, and other health foods and organic products,” the Liv website states.
“We take a different approach to your medical marijuana and health needs. We focus on natural and healthy products that will help you achieve a happier and healthier lifestyle.”
