Joshua Samayoa, 21, of the 300 block of Hudson Street, Westmont, was charged with domestic battery, resisting a police officer, interfering with the reporting of domestic battery and criminal damage to property on Dec. 29. According to police, Samayoa was accused of battering three individuals inside a home on the 8300 block of North Olcott Avenue and damaging several items.
Shameka T. Williams, 22, of the 8500 block of Bishop Street, Chicago, was charged with forgery on Dec. 27 after police said she used a counterfeit $100 bill to buy two bags of nuts from a store in the 5700 block of West Touhy Avenue. Police said two additional counterfeit bills were found in Williams’ purse.
Leaving the Scene
Syed Gilani, 56, of the 9400 block of Washington Street, Morton Grove, was charged with failure to give aid or information after a crash and driving on a suspended license on Dec. 31. According to police, Gilani was taking a car on a “joy ride” after he had performed automotive work on it when he struck another car near the intersection of Touhy and Lehigh avenues. He then allegedly drove away, but later turned himself into police. Gilani is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 23.
Police said a 37-year-old woman from Farmington Hills, Michigan was ticketed for disorderly conduct during a visit to a business in the 800 block of Civic Center Drive. According to police, the woman became upset over a seating arrangement and allegedly ripped the towel off another customer.
A 31-year-old Chicago man was ticketed for soliciting without a permit on Dec. 29 after police responded to a complaint of a
