PONTIAC, MI – Two people were shot and killed Saturday night as part of an arranged marijuana purchase, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Summoned shortly before 11 p.m., police found a woman, 23, and a man, 34, with multiple gunshot wounds inside a home on Robinwood Avenue, off N. Perry Street, in Pontiac.
Emergency medical personnel attempted to resuscitate the two without success. They were taken to McLaren Oakland hospital in Pontiac and a doctor pronounced them dead, according to the sheriff’s office.
“The shooting occurred as a result of a marijuana purchase that was set up by the suspects from the deceased male,” the sheriff’s office reported.
A boy, 17, and a man, 21, both of Pontiac, were arrested the next morning.
Two young children and another man also were in the home at the time of the shooting, but were not hurt.
One witness, who had just pulled into the driveway, used his vehicle to strike one of the alleged shooters as the shooter fled from the home; he still managed to escape.
A police dog team picked up a track, but it ended where police determined the suspects had gotten into a vehicle.
The accused shooters were taken to the county jail, and police located three semi-automatic handguns.
